HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADAM T. Eighteen today,
Left camp at 8.00am this morning to drive over to the Eastern side of Eyre Peninsula. Arrived at Cowell about 2.00pm for a one night stop travelling 198kms today plus the extra driving around the two extra towns. Tomorrow we will continue the rest of the way up the coast. Then we say goodbye to Eyre Peninsula and start travelling inland, travelling away from the coast until we get south of Sydney. On our way up today we drove round Port Lincoln and Tumby Bay. Didn’t take photos in Port Lincoln mainly a stop at Coles supermarket for a top up of the fridge mainly fruit, veg meat. And a quick drive round. Just a busy commercial town and port.
Our next stop after Port Lincoln was Tumby Bay a town with lots of artwork on their buildings around town as I have shown above and below. (For a bit of fun.)
These two (top and bottom) were one painting but was unable to get all in the one photo.
Some of these paintings should brighten up your day.
Above and below looking both ways in Tumby Bay nice little beaches going up this inlet coast.
Also found some Silo Art at Tumby which I didn't know about. We are now on the Silo Art trial again after loosing them over the Nullarbor and West Coast of Eyres Peninsula.
As you know since Perth we have been through many areas where they grow wheat. The wheat had been cropped before we came and all the fields we have seen so far are just a few spikes of wheat left in the ground after they had done their harvesting. Now for the first time today we have been passing farmers doing the ploughing getting ready to sow the seeds. Doesn’t this field look great. These fields just go on and on for kilometres
Now we have reached the town of Cowell where we are spending the night to break the trip up the coast. One of the best fishing destination in Australia. Kilometres of calm waters lies between Cape York and A
Eyres Peninsula,
Nice tidy little town with its three hotels/pubs
This is where I thought I would be seeing my next Silo not two in one day. This is a beauty in Cowell. Look how small PT looks.
Our dinner in the van tonight. Last chance tomorrow to find some more prawns before we leave the seafood areas tomorrow.
Just took the rubbish out and noticed the bright orange moon tonight.
Not a lot happening today just getting from one place to another. So watch out for more Silo Art work we should be seeing a few on our way now meeting up with the Silo Art trail. Which I told you about over the first few days of our trip
It’s all for a bit of fun.
